Finanziert wird er von Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould), einem konkurrierenden Casinobesitzer. Das High-Tech-Sicherheitssystem des Tresors gilt als unüberwindbar, doch Danny stellt eine Spezialistentruppe zusammen, die Mitglieder enthält wie den Sprengmeister Basher (Don Cheadle) oder Meisterdieb Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon).
